Home for the weekend, and feeling Wintery :)

Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year, so many rich colours and crisp cool days make for the best kind of walks.

I love these alternative pumpkin decorating ideas, we will be carving ours this weekend! :)

'Bloom Where You Are Planted'
http://textileandterrain.com/

I spotted a little hand painted sign in a boutique over 20 years ago, when I was far away from where I wanted to be living. It simply read “Bloom Where You’re Planted”. I took it to mean to be happy no matter where you physically lived.
Over the years I’ve come to understand that it does mean where you live, but it also means how you live, and what you’re doing. The flower doesn’t ask for perfection before it blooms. It does whatever it can to bring its beauty to the world.
This moment will never come again. Enjoy where you are, what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. Drink it in and devour it.

Amazing!

Beautiful scarves by Richard Weston for Liberty...
I feel so inspired by the bright colours and draping of the fabric into scarf form.

reminds me of waves and expanses of sea
this orange scarf is based on petrified wood, something that really caught my eye on Monday at the Natural History Museum...

also, a petrified tree trunk! beautiful!

lots of ideas to work on, and the painted style reminds me of the style in which I used to paint, looking at weathering and processes over time... lots to think about!

Design a Day - Tigerprint

Tigerprint's latest competition comes to an end today, I have spent some time preparing designs to submit, and have enjoyed looking at a different theme each day. Looking forward to next years 'gifted' competition.

'Garden Florals'

a new design using inks and bleach, a different look from my usual work, moving away from the line drawings.

Another trip to the Peak District! A bit more sun than last time, lots of cycling, and even more beautiful views! I love this place, and know it will inspire some new designs very soon!
